Bord Bia Origin Green Sustainability Programme


Our MD Micheál Briody and Environmental Manager Stephen Askin recently collected our Gold Membership for the prestigious Bord Bia Origin Green Sustainability Programme.

This is in recognition of exceeding our sustainability targets across all areas including Raw Material Sourcing, Manufacturing Processes, and Social Sustainability.

This award also acknowledges the effort and commitment invested by our team to ensure we work towards a greener future for our employees, customers and local community from our base in Emyvale, Co. Monaghan.



Our Managing Director Micheál Briody and Head of Sales Barry Cullen recently travelled to the Middle East Region to meet our partners Fresh Express LLC in Dubai.
Supported by Bord Bia – Irish Food Board and hosted at the acclaimed Mayabay Dubai Restaurant, we had the pleasure of serving a delicious Silver Hill Duck tasting menu to 30 of Dubai’s finest chefs. This culinary experience was masterfully crafted by the renowned Head Chef, Shane MacNeill. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Shane, whose roots trace back to Monaghan, as we proudly presented him with a framed family history and a beautifully crafted Irish wooden Duck adorned with the Monaghan colours!

Singapore, 13 September 2023 – InterContinental Singapore’s Michelin-recommended Cantonese restaurant, Man Fu Yuan, announces an exclusive collaboration with the Irish Duck Company. Together, they present an exceptional dining experience that brings the best of Irish cuisine to Singapore. From 1 October to 15 November, three exclusive menus, each of which showcases fine Irish meats, reared in the country’s vast countryside, will be offered during lunch and dinner.

From the highly acclaimed “8-Hands” collaboration with celebrated Chefs Pang Lu Tin, Fok Wing Tin, and Peter Tsang, where they reimagined classics from the 70s and 80s to this celebration of Irish produce Man Fu Yuan consistently explores innovative avenues to elevate its cuisine.

This dedication allows diners to indulge in uniquely crafted experiences that transcend the ordinary, setting Man Fu Yuan apart as a beacon of gastronomic innovation and excellence in the culinary world. With each new endeavour, Man Fu Yuan remains at the forefront of redefining the boundaries of Cantonese fine dining, guided by Chef Aaron’s unwavering dedication to culinary perfection.

Irish Duck Company, the exclusive distributor of the world-famous Silver Hill Duck in Asia, is renowned for providing the “wagyu of duck” to fine-dining establishments globally.

Recently we celebrated a significant milestone of one of our esteemed customers @tunglokgroup who have now sold over 500,000 Silver Hill Ducks across all of their restaurants in Singapore.

It was an honour to present founder @ Andrew Tjioe with a special piece of Galway Crystal on his visit to Silver Hill Duck to acknowledge this amazing achievement. A big thank you to our neighbours @castleleslie and Chef @aaronduffy510 who treated our visitors to an amazing Silver Hill Duck Dinner and a tour of the historic castle.

We are very proud that the world’s best duck comes from our small corner of the world here in Emyvale, Co. Monaghan.


We recently welcomed @bordbia CEO Jim O’Toole and his colleagues Shane Hamill and Fiona O’Shaughnessy for a tour of our Production facilities and to share our future growth plans.

Silver Hill Duck are strong advocates of the great work Bord Bia does for Irish produce around the world and we are also proud members of @bordbia Origin Green Scheme.

Quality met quality with Chefs and ingredients at the third annual Silver Hill Duck cooking competition at TU Dublin.
From dozens of entries across a wide range of culinary courses, 8 finalists were selected to create their favourite Silver Hill Duck Dish.
The next generation of Chefs in Ireland showcased amazing culinary creativity using our world renowned product.
