Key Accountabilities:

  • Organising daily work schedules and assisting in managing a team.
  • Assist with daily deliveries, egg inventory, incubation, transfer and equipment.
  • Drive performance to achieve high-quality day-old ducklings.
  • Manage daily production data and report at the production meetings.
  • Assist with maintenance issues and preventative maintenance with the maintenance team as required.
  • Enforce Silver Hill Hatchery code of practice.
  • Performance management throughout the process from egg receiving to dispatch of day olds to our growing farms.
  • Liaise with the supply farms and growing managers on egg and day-old quality.
  • Ensure all bio security measures are always adhered to.
  • Performance of other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Previous poultry experience desirable.
  • Ideally a degree in poultry, animal science or another related field.
  • Ability to be flexible and respond to a changing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to prioritise and work at pace to complete tasks effectively.
  • Must live or be willing to relocate to live within 20 km of the hatchery.

IT Support Technician

Job Title: IT Support Technician

Reporting to: ICT Manager

Contract Type: Full-time / Permanent

Location: Emyvale, Co. Monaghan

The IT Support Technician will provide technical assistance and support to end-users within Silver Hill Duck. This role involves resolving hardware and software issues, troubleshooting network problems, and maintaining our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with users at all levels of technical proficiency.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide first-level technical support to end-users via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely and efficient manner throughout the company.
  • Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems, printers, and other hardware.
  • Install and update software applications and operating systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and updates on IT equipment, servers and systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of support requests, solutions, and hardware/software inventory.
  • Assist in user account management, including password resets and permissions changes.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members on larger projects and initiatives.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on software and hardware usage.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with common troubleshooting techniques and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Process 1 Supervisor

Job Title: Process 1 Supervisor

Reporting to: Production Manager

Contract Type: Full-time / Permanent

Location: Emyvale, Co. Monaghan

Key Accountabilities:

  • To ensure all personnel are wearing the correct PPE in the area.
  • Ongoing checks on product quality during production, completion of all quality documentation as required.
  • Ensure operators are following all hygiene rules and guidelines.
  • Ensure all machine guards are in correct working order and in place on relevant machines, reporting of any defects to the maintenance team.
  • Daily pre-check of the production line and Anglia Auto Flow. Setting the line speed as per the weekly kill sheet.
  • Ongoing monitoring of the duck’s post plucking and making any necessary changes to improve the pluck.
  • Removal of all condemned product from the area on a regular basis, gross clean of the area at break times.
  • Liaise with the Quality Manager regarding the quality of the finished pluck.
  • Ensuring any required maintenance is planned and completed.
  • Reporting of non-conformances or safety concerns to the relevant personnel.
  • Work on our quality, maintenance, training, and health & safety systems to ensure timely close outs of issues.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in similar production role desirable.
  • Computer skills.
  • Experience managing people essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to prioritise and work at pace to complete tasks effectively.

Maintenance Electrician

Contract Type: Full-time / Permanent

Reporting to: Engineering Manager

Location: Emyvale, Co. Monaghan

Key Accountabilities:

  • Installing, maintaining and repairing electrical control, wiring and lighting systems.
  • Reading technical diagrams and drawings.
  • Performing general electrical maintenance.
  • Inspecting transformers, circuit breakers and other electrical components.
  • Troubleshooting electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
  • Repairing and replacing equipment, electrical wiring and fixtures.
  • Following National Electrical Code state and local building regulations.
  • Performing circuit breaker corrective maintenance.
  • Maintaining good knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems as well as various testing equipment.
  • General repair work to process machinery.
  • Routine preventative maintenance.
  • Completion of relevant paperwork.
  • Performance of other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Previous electrical experience and qualifications is required.
  • Good manual dexterity is essential.
  • Ability to work to a flexible schedule to accommodate and prioritise the needs of the business.
  • Excellent time management and an ability to work independently.
  • Work well with other functions developing positive relationships to ensure the delivery of results.
