Our products such as Crispy Duck & Pancake, Confit Duck Legs & Duck Fillets are annual award winners at the Irish Quality Food Awards, Great Taste Awards and Blas na hÉireann.
In March 2019 Fane Valley Group acquired Silver Hill Duck. Fane Valley is a progressive agri-food business, based in Northern Ireland and has been Silver Hill’s feed nutrition partner for over 20 years. The announcement secured ongoing investment in the development of the existing production site at Emyvale to keep pace with rapidly growing global demand for the famous Silver Hill Duck.
Silver Hill Duck has achieved tremendous success in recent years, in both domestic and overseas markets. We have more than doubled production in the last five years from 36,000 ducks per week to 82,500 per week.
Marked success has been achieved amongst Asian customers due to the superior roasting qualities of the Silver Hill Duck. We are the proud supplier of head on duck to the very best Chinese & Asian restaurants in Ireland and the UK for almost 40 years. It also commands a premium price in Singapore, Hong Kong & Macau where chefs have christened Silver Hill’s unique breed of duck ‘The Mother of All Duck’. Additional sales enquiries have also come in from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia & mainland China based on this success.

Silver Hill Duck is founded by Ronnie and Lyla Steele, in Emyvale, Co. Monaghan starting out with just six top quality ducks. Over time these were developed into a unique breed, the Silver Hill Duck.
We sent our first order of the increasingly popular Silver Hill Duck to Germany. Silver Hill also win the prestigious Irish Export Award in the same year.
A state of the art Feather Plant is constructed to produce premium Duck Down Duvet & Pillows. These will in time become the preferred choice for 4 & 5 star hotels worldwide.
A new hatchery & breeding farms are built in different local locations to meet growing demand of the Silver Hill Duck.
A milestone moment. Silver Hill Duck sells its first load into Chinatown in London. This paved the way for our company to become the number 1 supplier of Head On Duck to the Chinese UK Market for decades to come.
We celebrate 45 years in business with our ever expanding customer base from all around the world.
Ireland is the first country in the world to introduce a sustainability program for the food industry. Silver Hill Duck becomes a founding member of Bord Bia’s Origin Green Sustainability Scheme.
A major breakthrough in the Asian Market sees Silver Hill begin exporting to the Singapore Market. Hong Kong & Macau soon follow and Silver Hill Duck are now selling into over 24 countries worldwide.
Supplying over 800 Irish & UK Supermarket outlets daily with our wide range of duck products, Silver Hill Duck is now the fastest growing product in the poultry category in both markets.
A new Centre of Excellence opens in Emyvale, Co. Monaghan, our home since 1962. This allows us to meet growing demand at home & abroad and make significant investment in expanding our workforce.

Silver Hill Duck which has been wholly owned by the innovative Steele family for the past 58 years is acquired by Fane Valley Group. An exciting new era dawns for the company with the new owners backing the existing Silver Hill management team to continue to grow the Emyvale based operation in the years ahead.
