Electrical Maintenance Engineer with 3+ years’ experience working in the Food or related industry.

Hands-on role demonstrating excellent mechanical and electrical knowledge.

Competent working on motors, gearboxes, drives and conveyors.

Main aspect of the role is to respond promptly to issues with our production or facility equipment identify a solution and implement an appropriate repair.

Ensure planned facility / equipment maintenance is clearly prioritised and completed safely, effectively, in a timely manner and in compliance with the appropriate industry standards.

Silver Hill are in the process of a major expansion program so this will be an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to contribute significantly to our future strategy.

Breeder Site Assistant Manager

Job Title: Breeder Site Assistant Manager                        Reporting to: Site Manager

Contract Type: Full-time / Permanent                     Location: Aughnacloy, Co. Tyrone

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Ensure the implementation and compliance to Silver Hill Code of practice, Animal welfare and the Quality Management System
  • To support the Site Manager in the effective and efficient management of the area.
  • Analysing feed intake, water consumption, overall bird performance and reporting to management
  • To help co-ordinate the day-to-day operations of the site
  • Play a key role in ensuring biosecurity at all sites is at the highest standards and working and educating all stakeholders to maintain these standards
  • Ensuring optimal ventilation requirements are in place to ensure the growth and health performance of birds
  • Providing guidance on best practices standards in duck husbandry and animal welfare to all staff working on the site
  • Ability to be flexible and assist on manual work within the site when needed
  • Ability to be flexible and assist on manual work on the rearing and laying farms when needed

Criteria and Core Skills

  • Knowledge of poultry production and quality standards would be advantageous
  • Good communication, organisation, and planning skills
  • The candidate must have good work ethic, be able to work on their own initiative whilst also being able to integrate into a team
  • Ability to build and manage relationships with staff working on the site
  • Proficient capability with MS Office and good IT skills
